Today I went for a walk along the banks of the Main River, the river that flows through Frankfurt. Frankfurt isn't a very nice city, nor is it picturesque, but it does have a great riverfront, and they've made it an inline-skating, jogging haven and a lot of people also just picnic and sit on the lawns. In fact, I'm always amazed at how many people just go outside and take a stroll or sit on a bench to read a book. It's by far much different that in America, where we just get in our cars to go somewhere.
Germany is known for having a very large Turkish community. Although not always outwardly friendly to the Turks, Germany has accepted one part of the Turkish culture with open arms, and that's the Döner, or kebab/shwarma wraps that you can purchase from zillions of vendors and small mom and pop shops throughout the country. However, this is the first time I've ever seen a boat-version of the Döner shop. Quite interesting considering it's catering specifically to the strollers and park goers. I wonder though if it isn't cheaper to operate given that there are no property leasing costs and energy is no doubtedly provided by a generator. Also, given the fact that it's mobile, it could be a very good business idea.
Also, you've all heard that Germans love their beer, but did you know that they love it enough that that have a Beer Bike? Check it out yourselves! Here you can rent a beer bike with a designated-steerer to drive you and your closest friends through the streets and drink beer at the same time! ONLY IN GERMANY. I guess there are lots of pasttimes that one can take up on the weekend. By the way, if you're concerned with all the calories you can intake while drinking beer, the beer bike is the perfect invention, because you're constantly peddling to propel the "vehicle", thereby losing calories at the same time. I just hope that you don't have to make a bathroom break because it could become never-ending. Also, it is legal to drink alcoholic beverages inside vehicles, so long as the driver has had nothing to drink. So assuming that the person who steers this thing hasn't been drinking, I guess it's irregardless if the peddlers have been drinking!
